Lost S.O.S

Wow, interesting... The SOS episode of lost shows us a couple of things. one is that we know that Rose knew that Locke was wheelchair bound before the plane crash. Two, we know that she feels that she has been healed by the island, and she knows that Locke also knows the power of the island.

I'm sure that everyone heard the words of the healer Issac "There are certain places with white energy, spots on the earth, like the one were above now. Perhaps this energy is geological, magnetic, or perhaps its something else, and when possible I harness this energy and give it to others."

When he stops the healing process and has that odd look on his face she asks what is it? He answers "I'm sorry, I can't do anything for you Rose". She answers " I didn't expect you to". He replies "It's not that you can't be healed. Like I said it's different energies, this is not the right place for you."

She then says "Where is the right place?". Isacc then replies "I wish I knew". Lets not forget the magnetism of the island.

Once again just some thoughts. Lots of faith stuff popping up again.

Henry and Locke Conversation

When Henry was talking to locke in the "Dave" episode.

Henry was talking to Locke and during the conversation he said "God doesn't know how long we've been here John. He can't see this island any better than the rest of the world can."

Interesting, could this be part of the purgatory theory? Hmmmm just some thoughts.

Eko's Tattoo

Notice that Eko has a tattoo on his left arm. It is very difficult to make out what it is. Do you know what it is? You can see it here.

For some reason I could not upload the picture on blogger. I think that they may be having problems.

Libby

I think that Libby is a patient that Hurley met in the hospital. I'm guessing not many of you watch or watched Guiding Light but "Libby" was on that show and played Annie - she was a total physcho who was institutionalized - she played the hell out of crazy!!! I think we are going to see the insane Libby on the island soon and I can't wait! Talk on the other Lost sites is saying that there was an image in the peanut butter Hurley dropped - I didn't see anything did anyone else?

I'm also looking at several things regarding Jack's tattoo. I believe it may have something to do with with the Aikido practice of tattooing (it's very popular in the Hawaiian islands and a black triangle image means "on a mission") -could Jack really be an "Other"????

Dave

Dave if you move the letters around and spell veda according to Dictionary.com:

n : (from the Sanskrit word for `knowledge') any of the most ancient sacred writings of Hinduism written in early Sanskrit; traditionallly believed to comprise the Samhitas, the Brahmanas, the Aranyakas, and the Upanishads.

Just a thought.

Is Jack an Other?

It's probably a far-fetched thought, but since I had it I would like to share it. Is it even remotely possible that Jack is one of the Others? Bear with me on this one. I told you it's probably far-fetched, but's let's explore:
  • We have no idea what happened to Jack after him and Sarah divorced and we have no idea if anything ever happened between him and the woman he kissed while he was still married to Sarah.
  • We do know that he got his tattoo after Sarah.
  • We have no idea the significance of the tattoo, for all we know it could have something to do with the Others, the Dharma Initiative, or the Island.
  • The very first episode started off with Jack waking up in the jungle after the plane crash, not on the beach next to the plane like all the others. He had to run from where he was to the beach, which is where the plane crashed.
  • I kind of think Jack's tattoo resembles part of the mural on the wall in the hatch, anyone else think so?

Like I said, it's probably a far-fetched thought, but it makes you stop and think for a second, doesn't it?

Is Kate connected to the real Henry Gale?

Remember the episode where Kate opened the trunk of her car and there were a bunch of license plates in it? Here is a screen capture of it. Notice the Minnesota license plate?

The Playing Cards

As noted in my previous post, the number in the center of Jack's tattoo is the number five. We see shots of three hands of cards. The first is from the game between Hurley, Kate, and Sawyer. Jack was not in this game. Notice that a card with the number five does not appear in this hand.

The second shot we see is from the first game between Jack and Sawyer where Jack beat Sawyer with trip Kings over trip Queens. Notice the five of diamonds in the shot.

The third shot we see is of the second hand between Jack and Sawyer where Jack beat Sawyer with a pair of nines over a pair of, yup you guessed it, fives. Notice one of those fives is again the five of diamonds.

I would like to point out that Jack's tattoo is very visible the whole time he is playing cards with Sawyer.

Jack's Tattoo

Jack's tattoo is seen quite a bit in this week's episode and it has got me thinking about the significance of it, if there is one. Here is a picture of his tattoo. Would anyone like to take a stab at the translation of the characters? They could be Chinese, Japanese or even Korean (perhaps Sun and Jin can translate this for us, wonder if there is a connection there).

Here are some interesting facts about the tattoo:

  1. There are Asian characters across the bottom that must translate into something.
  2. The number 5 is displayed in the middle. There is more to read on the number 5 and Jack's tattoo in my posting about the playing cards.
  3. The characters to the right of the tattoo almost look like the letters B and C, but could very well be something else.
  4. As seen in the images below, Jack did not have the tattoo before he got married or while he was married. The first image is from just before he was married, the second from when him and Sarah first started to split apart.
  5. The tattoo is not always visible. In fact, from what I can tell it is rarely visible and seems to only be visible when something significant is happening. I have searched some screen captures from quite a few past episodes of Lost and here is what I found so far (there may be more):
  • Episode #1 - when the plane crashed.
  • When Boone died.
  • When the hatch was opened.
  • When the lockdown of the hatch occurred.
